Terrified Tuesday

Who, us, tourists?  What gave you that crazy idea!? It's perfectly normal for locals to pose in Canadian garb in the middle of a Dollarama!
The title may be a little exaggerated but I do have to say I felt pretty nervous about EVERYTHING on Tuesday.  At the hotel after John left I felt like everyone "knew" we were foreigners.  I know it was all in my head but I felt nervous going to breakfast, I felt nervous if the kids left my sight for one second, I felt nervous about "what if" they got sick and I have to go to a hospital. I felt nervous driving to subway right across the street, I felt nervous paying in Canadian money, I felt REALLY nervous after I tried to be brave and drive to downtown Napanee with the boys and "explore."  Well that didn't happen! I drove down there and school was letting out, so there were crossing guards and kids everywhere.  All of that plus I was driving the mini van which I'm not really familiar with at all and of course all that with my Ohio license.  It was crazy! So, defeated, I drove back to our hotel.  We parked and walked over to the Walmart next door to look at toys.  I felt so annoyed at myself, that here we are in CANADA, and all I can venture out to do is to go to Walmart and look at toys.  We did  walk over to the Dollarama store where we took the above picture! Oooh, big risk taker huh?
Staying in the comfort of our "hotel" because I was too nervous!

Jayden found his art teacher's favorite book and the fish that Jayden made in school, the fat fish pictured above. (picture of Jayden's fat fish coming soon)
Joel got to pick where we ate for lunch. His choice?  Subway! He's almost as risky as I am;)

Once John got home we drove to Kingston, a really cute college town with a beautiful downtown that has lot's of fun little shops.  Unfortunately (or fortunately) we got there when most of the stores were closing, but we DID get to stop in the toy store pictured above.  Jayden picked out a spy secret message notebook kit and Joel got spy glasses, so we spent the rest of our evening "spying".

We couldn't decide where to eat but then we came across this little crepe restaurant.  Crepes are always a good choice!  John got a western crepe, I got a veggie one and Joel and Jayden got a Nutella, and banana one.  Theirs won the best taste of course!

The partially decapitated parents showing their excitement for crepes
Right when we finished, you can see in the picture of the church, a big storm rolled in and it just started pouring!  John ran to get the van (nice guy) and we all scrambled in.  As we drove out of Kingston the rain stopped and we enjoyed this beautiful view on our way back to Napanee.
