We discovered a pick your own blueberry patch only a little over a mile away. I really wish I'd had known about it sooner because they are only $2/lb and organic!
We also decided we wanted to give our kitchen a face lift (this may or may not be due to the fact that I went to The Great Outdoors store for one of the first times the day before). We had previously had a bar table there and just never got around to doing anything with this area.
Before- (and don't ask why I have a clothes hamper in here)
After- I've always wanted one of the pot hanging racks in my kitchen but due to limited space figured it wouldn't be happening here at this home. Well low and behold it did happen! John also built us a new table because we missed having the other one. (It was recycled into a shoe bench.) We also decided to replace the fan with a clearanced light we found for $9.oo! Interestingly enough we soon discovered the reason for clearancing such a nice fixture! Each bulb cost us more than the light itself! Oh well, they are supposed to have a 2 yr lifetime. I love this corner of my kitchen now, what a practical small space:) John did an instructable detailing the steps we took to do this little update.
love the color - awesome job!
