I'm so thankful for my friend Sadie planning another winter hike during what would have been another boring Friday while the kiddos are in school and I'm probably cleaning, or trying to talk myself into scrubbing that bathroom toilet. I always thought hiking was just something you DON'T do in the winter! How wrong I've been, its in many way's even more beautiful and definitely more challenging with more obstacles then warm weather hiking. When we got there and we were getting out of the car we heard a very strange sound. Well, it just happened to be Sadie's tire losing air! Apparently she hit a rock and it was sinking fast. She called her husband Brad to the rescue and while we were in the woods he came and changed the tire for us. Us Ladies were very grateful! Our hike took around 2 hours and even though the temperatures were VERY cold once we were out there and moving it was perfect weather. Cold enough the snow was not slushy and our feet stayed toasty warm.
After our hike we headed back to the car and we were ready for lunch and Sadie's car was stuck on the icy pavement, so after some pushing we were free and on our way to Local Roots for some delicious lunch. It felt fantastic to warm up and get some warm food in our growling bellies! Thank you once again Sadie, for making me take a "Risk":)

I am just loving having some wonderful friends to join me in adventures! What a great day that was...even the flat tire! I'm so thankful for you, Jules! You have been such a blessing to me. Looking forward to our next outing...XC skiing??
