Aboard the Westerdam

We left Columbus airport at 6am then landed in Atlanta at 7:30am with our connecting flight to Ft. Lauderdale departing at 8:20! Needless to say I was a little worried about making it on time. Thank goodness to the extremely speedy train that takes you to each terminal we made it to the gate as they were boarding! Wheshu...



This is actually hardly an exaggeration as a grown man almost fell completely down the first time the train took off!

We hadn't had anything to eat all day between airports and check in, so we were ready to eat and were so happy when there was hot food ready as soon as we boarded. We never went hungry again that week!


This was just one tiny portion of the buffet and one of our servers. I'd have to say that the staff was one of our favorite parts of our trip. They always went out of the way to be so kind and they were awesome. Most are away from there families for up to 10 months at a time!

Our first night both of us didn't feel very well. I'm not sure if it was just exhaustion, stress or the rocking of the boat or all of the above. John wasn't going to order dessert but after the peer pressure from our table he finally caved which resulted in our table erupting in cheers! The guy next to us said, "Hey, will you react like that if I get dessert?"
