Duck NC

We had an awesome vacation at the end of August with our friends Steve and Leah and their sweet family.  We went to Duck, NC so that we wouldn't have to drive to terribly far.
We had a late school start with the new schools being built so we very much enjoyed
spending our extra time this way!

On our way we stopped in Washington DC to see some friends of ours, Aaron and Monica.
We had an excellent time with them and got to see a little bit of the city!
We went out to eat for breakfast at Busboys and Poets and the kiddos just loved it.
We all did, it was books and food!

A drive by view of the White House.

On our way to the beach house Leah and I both picked up some fresh peaches
at one of the fresh fruit stands so we really enjoyed our peaches for the week.
First glimpse of our beach, which was right down the road and an easy walk!
Our beach house covered in our wet sandy towels
Hot tub fun

Steve and Leah watched all the kiddos one night so we could go out to eat and then we returned the favor so we each had a good hot meal with our spouses:)
We enjoyed going to the Wright Brothers National Memorial one day
and touring that.

Lots of sandy beach fun and some good waves to go with it!
The girls had fun making Jayden into a mermaid:)
 Toss!

And with good friends, comes good food!!

We woke up early on John's birthday to watch the sunrise.

Then we enjoyed a super fun day paddleboarding.
I think we all LOVED this so much. I would really enjoy
doing it again.
 I couldn't resist playing with my balance a little:P

Happy Birthday John, it's going to be hard to compete with a birthday like this one!
Thanks for a super fun vacation Bechtol family.  We can't wait to do it again sometime:)
