Third time's a charm

Columbus Marathon 2012
It was so nice to run this with several other of my running friends from Ashland, even though we were all doing different distances, different paces, it was so nice to know we were there for each other.  The weather was absolutely perfect for a marathon. Nice and chilly, not too hot or too cold although if you asked the supporters I'm sure they would say TOO cold!

John met me at mile 19 and ran with me until the finish. That was awesome to have his support at the end when you are really starting to drag. This was around mile 22 I believe.
The proud & tired finishers.  Sarah and Amber both did awesome. This was Sarah's first marathon and she finished strong & with a smile:) I finally broke my 4 hour goal and finished in 3:53:34.
Now my favorite thing about the race was that each and every mile was dedicated to a special child from the Nationwide Children's hospital.  Most of them were there at the race even! They had on big orange gloves so you could slap their hands.  It was indescribable to see these children out there in the cold supporting us, especially when you think about what they have endured!  It made each and every mile so personal and so unforgettable, it was a truly amazing experience.

Thank you to my husband for carrying all my stuff for me and for all the encouragement those last struggling miles.
