How to survive your Kindergartener's first day of school list:
- Wake up with that nervous butterfly stomach feeling
- Pack lunches (now two of them) and get them into backpacks, meanwhile thinking about how lonesome my lunch will be today
- Wake up boys and eat breakfast
- Before school photo's outside
- Drive to the school and wait in the tremendously long line!!
- Watch Joel as he walks in
- Park and go to the gym to take some more pictures
- Walk with him to the classroom, where we are then instructed to give hugs and head on out...
- HUG, walk out, keep moving, keep swallowing big lump in throat
- Scratch breakfast out with John as he now has to get back to work pronto...boo, now I have to go back to the quiet house where reality will surely set in.
- Call my friend Sadie to see if we can push our run up a bit (less quiet time in the lonesome house)
- Relief, she's on board! Eat a little more breakfast
- Head out with Sadie for our run
- Run
- Run
- Start talking about smoothies around mile 12 and now that's all we can think about (which is good right, it's keeping my mind off Joel)
- Run (finally deciding that after our run we are heading to downtown perk for those well deserved smoothies
- Get back home, wipe our faces off and drive to coffee shop. YUM!! Perfect ending to such a long hot hard run (our apologies to any one near us).
- Come home and shower. What!!! It's nearly 2:00!
- Vacuum the living room floor
- Grab my water bottle and book
- Drive to the school and wait in the tremendously long line
- Wait
- Wait
- Get Joel!!
Oh boy. I've got no plans tomorrow!!
Open house the night before...
Joel all smiles on his first day!
Jayden's photography skills
Waiting in the gym before heading down to the classroom, where parents were dismissed.
Telling his big brother ALL about his "very best day EVER day" of school.
Aww! This makes me want to cry! And then go on another run so we can get another smoothie...
