Quick trip to VA

John had to go to Virginia for work so since it was a holiday weekend we decided to tag along!

Eating pizza in our room after our long 8 hour drive, YUM!

In the morning we took Daddy to work then headed back to the hotel for some breakfast. After breakfast we went swimming for a little while. The hot tub heater was broken but for some reason it was about 4 degrees warmer than the pool so we spent most of our time in there. Then we went to Kickback Jack's for lunch. I let the boys choose where we should eat but we all agreed we wanted to try something new...

After our lunch we went shopping for a little while then it was time to pick up John. Off we go to find somewhere else to eat for supper, again wanting something different. We decided to try a Hibachi Grill (aka- regular Chinese restaurant but with freezing cold buffet food, we are not one's to complain but wow, it was all we could do to eat anything here- yuck!) As you can see by the pictures we gave up on the "real food" and just went to the dessert bar which wasn't any better...I didn't think you could go wrong with rice pudding but man was I wrong)

After our horrible no good very bad supper we headed back to the pool on nearly empty stomach's to go swimming.

John was imitating Jayden's doggy paddling...

The boy's paid him back with a nice big splash!

Day Two:
We took John back to work then back to the hotel for breakfast again. After filling up on breakfast and packing up all our stuff we headed to the Danville Science Center. I had completely forgot that I have a COSI pass for our Ohio Science Center and it ended up being free admission-YAHOO!

Next we headed over to the "still in use" train station for some more Science center fun.


Waiting at Starbucks for John to finish up at work so we could make our trip back home.


Checking out an overlook on our way home, barefooted, cold and trying to quick get back in the car before this semi behind us caught up and we'd have to follow behind the whole time up the mountains.

Some more excitement on our way home...yep we got pulled over at 1 am in the morning about 2 blocks from home, yes 2 blocks!! It was just a license plate light and the cop actually laughed when he heard we were coming back from VA and were SO close to home. He said, "Well you almost made it!" He had us back on our way very quickly with only a warning (and no I did NOT take this picture - you could probably figure that out on your own noticing the style of this car)
