Our attempt at the Northstar burger with some apple fries from Whole Foods which weren't the best either...sigh, hey you win some, you lose some!
Next time we would use less beets, more beans and rice!

I suppose I would have turned and smiled had I known the camera man was out!
Ahhhh, look out!
We decided to try to "recreate" the Northstar (our favorite restaurant in Columbus Ohio) burger with the following recipe:
http://www.thekitchn.com/thekitchn/restaurant-reproductions/restaurant-reproduction-bestever-veggie-burgers-from-northstar-cafe-096967
I think we've come to the sad conclusion that particular burger can not be recreated :(
The link for the actual restaurant here: http://www.thenorthstarcafe.com/
I would highly suggest you try it out if your ever in the area, you won't regret it!!
We finished the evening playing "red light, green light" which was very interesting in our tiny house but the boys insisted we had to play THAT game and finished the evening with Jenga.
Hi Julie!
ReplyDeleteDo you mind if I follow your blog? Just wanted to check before I add you to my list! Good days to you all, Dora
Sure that is fine, I'd love to have you follow and I'll be sure to add you to my list too if thats ok:) Glad you found me!
ReplyDeleteI'd have to say pass on the burger if it contains beets! :) I love trying to recreate dishes from restaurants as well. Never the same though, sadly. I have a shirt very similar to the one you're wearing but I think its not - mine's from OLD Navy. Looks like you guys know how to have fun! BTW we enjoyed meeting your worker Joel Riggs! Nice young man. :)
ReplyDeleteyeah, I always try but most of the time your right, its just not the same! I actually got that shirt at Goodwill, the only place to shop in little Ashland haha. I think its from Kohls because its that Apt 9 brand, or maybe JCPenneys? Not sure..Yes we really like Joel, of course our little Joel really does since they share the same name;)
